Mexican Rush (Mexican Landrace Sativa)
Mexican Rush is a classic sativa strain developed from authentic Mexican landrace genetics. Sourced from the mountainous regions along Mexico’s Pacific Coast, this cultivar offers traditional aromas, balanced effects, and strong performance for growers seeking heritage cannabis varieties.
Genetics and Background
Mexican Rush originates from carefully selected landrace sativa plants native to the Sierra Madre del Sur region near Acapulco. These genetics have evolved in a hot, tropical climate, resulting in a resilient and vigorous strain with distinct growth characteristics.
Through selective breeding, this lineage has been stabilized while preserving the essential traits that define classic Mexican sativas.
Flavor and Effects
Mexican Rush delivers a complex and refined flavor profile. Notes of fruit and pine are complemented by earthy undertones and a subtle honey-like sweetness, with a slightly spicy finish on the exhale.
With THC levels around 22 percent, the effects are both soothing and clear-headed. Users can expect a gentle body relaxation paired with mental clarity and focus, making this strain suitable for daytime use and creative activities.
Growth Characteristics
This feminized photoperiod strain thrives in warm, sunny, and humid climates, making it particularly well suited for outdoor cultivation. Plants exhibit classic sativa growth patterns, developing tall structures with long, airy flower clusters.
Outdoors, plants can reach heights of up to 200 cm and produce yields of up to 700 grams per plant, with harvest typically ready by mid-October. Indoors, plants remain more manageable at 80 to 130 cm and yield up to 550 to 600 grams per square meter after a flowering period of 9 to 11 weeks.
Mexican Rush is a vigorous grower that benefits from space and proper airflow to support its natural structure.
