Bubblegum XL

Bubblegum XL (Power Plant x Santa Maria)

Bubblegum XL is a well-balanced hybrid that showcases classic Amsterdam genetics, combining reliable performance with a sweet, approachable profile. Created from a cross of Power Plant and Santa Maria, this strain delivers a smooth blend of uplifting and relaxing effects, making it suitable for a wide range of users and growing styles.

Genetics and Background

Bubblegum XL traces its roots back to early breeding work in the United States, where the original Bubblegum strain first appeared in Indiana. Over time, selected phenotypes were refined in New England and later perfected in the Netherlands. Dutch breeders helped bring this variety to international recognition, where it gained popularity for its flavor, stability, and consistent performance.

With an even 50 percent indica and 50 percent sativa genetic profile, Bubblegum XL offers a balanced experience that gently relaxes the body while maintaining a clear and uplifting mental effect.

Growth Characteristics

This feminized photoperiod strain is easy to manage and suitable for growers of all experience levels. Plants remain relatively compact, with limited vertical stretch, making them ideal for indoor cultivation or controlled outdoor environments.

Bubblegum XL typically flowers within 8 to 9 weeks, producing dense, resin-rich buds. Indoor growers can expect yields of up to 500 grams per square meter under optimal conditions. Outdoors, performance depends on climate, with best results in warm, stable conditions. In more humid environments, extra care should be taken to prevent mold and rot due to the density of the buds.

Flavor and Aroma

This strain is known for its distinctly sweet aroma, complemented by earthy undertones. The flavor profile is smooth and rich, combining candy-like sweetness with subtle notes of citrus and earth.

Effects

Bubblegum XL delivers a balanced high that combines gentle physical relaxation with a light cerebral uplift. With moderate potency, it provides a comfortable experience that is neither overwhelming nor sedating, making it a versatile option for both daytime and evening use.

Flowering and Harvest

Flowering time ranges from 8 to 9 weeks. During this period, plants develop compact, resin-coated flowers with strong bag appeal. Proper drying and curing will enhance the strain’s signature sweetness and overall quality.
