At Her Seed Bank, we’re thrilled to announce Gorilla Glue #4 as our Cultivar of the Month. Known for its remarkable potency, unique terpene profile, and sticky resin production, GG4 continues to impress both cultivators and cannabis enthusiasts. Based in Tonawanda, NY, we are dedicated to offering high-quality seeds to empower growers and support the cannabis community. This month, we spotlight a legendary cultivar that’s perfect for growers seeking both challenge and reward.
The History Behind Gorilla Glue #4
Gorilla Glue #4, often called GG4, has an origin story as intriguing as its effects. Bred by Josey Whales and Lone Watie, GG4 emerged from an unintentional pollination between Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. The outcome? A cultivar that immediately stood out for its immense resin production, high THC levels, and unforgettable aroma. GG4 quickly garnered attention, taking home multiple Cannabis Cup awards and solidifying its place in cannabis history.

Why Growers and Consumers Love GG4
Exceptional Potency
Gorilla Glue #4 is not for the faint-hearted. With THC levels often surpassing 25%, this cultivar delivers a powerful and long-lasting effect. Its high begins with a cerebral rush, bringing on waves of euphoria and creativity, followed by a deeply relaxing body high. This dual action makes it a popular choice for those seeking relief from stress, pain, and insomnia.
Unforgettable Aroma and Flavor
GG4 boasts a bold terpene profile with notes of earth, pine, and sour diesel, creating an unforgettable sensory experience. The flavor is just as complex, delivering a smooth mix of pungent and earthy tones with hints of sweetness. Whether you’re vaping, smoking, or consuming concentrates, GG4 provides an elevated experience.
Resin Powerhouse
One of the most notable traits of GG4 is its incredible resin production. Its dense buds are coated in sticky trichomes, making it a favorite for concentrate enthusiasts. Growers seeking cultivars ideal for creating hash, rosin, or other extracts will find Gorilla Glue #4 hard to beat.
How to Grow Gorilla Glue #4
Growing GG4 can be both rewarding and challenging, making it ideal for intermediate to experienced growers. Here are some essential tips to get the most out of this exceptional cultivar:
- Growing Environment: GG4 thrives in a warm, sunny climate with low humidity to prevent mold and mildew.
- Indoor vs. Outdoor: Indoors, expect yields up to 600g/m², while outdoor plants can produce up to 500g per plant under ideal conditions.
- Flowering Time: GG4 flowers in 8-9 weeks, making it relatively quick for such a high-yielding cultivar.
- Training Techniques: To maximize light penetration and yield, consider using topping, low-stress training (LST), or Screen of Green (ScrOG) methods.
